Long layover between flights? Yes please!
Although i was a little wonky from the time switch and a little tired from the flight, i could not give up a chance to explore, even if only for a few hours. The train lead us right into centrum and the first thing i enjoyed was a schnitzel the size of my face, and it was amazing. After curbing my hunger, we strolled by the river Main and discovered a padlock bridge.
My favourite part would have to be the Altstadt(old town) district. The architecture and details in the half-timbered buildings is just eye-candy. They were undergoing some preservation renovations at the time, but that definitely didn’t take away from the charm.
And to top it off, i found a shop full of German incense smokers. They are these little adorable figurines that you fill with an incense and the vapor gives them a smoking appearance. I was tempted to purchase another one (i already have one a home). But i passed on the temptation.
Last thing we had time for was wandering through an outdoor market. Then it was time to head back to the airport. Goodbye Germany, till’ next time.
